Each grandstand at Circuit Zandvoort has a name, such as Tarzan, Arena, Eastside or Hairpin, but each is sold under a colour price tier: Gold, Silver I, Silver II, Bronze, or the Main Straight group. The tier tells you the price, not the quality of the view, and some stands split across two tiers with no barrier between them. This is the most common way fans overpay or under-buy here, so decode it first.

The best grandstands at Circuit Zandvoort – ranked

1. Arena Grandstands, Turns 11 to 12: the best atmosphere in Formula 1

The Arena grandstands surround the tight chicane at Turns 11 and 12, with the stands facing each other across the track. The cars slow right down here, so you see them up close. But the real reason to sit here is the crowd –  the sea of orange and the DJs between sessions make it the best atmosphere in Formula 1. One thing to watch: in the lower rows and in the cheaper Arena 3 section, the opposite stands and the fencing block block part of your view. We recommend you book higher rows and higher seat numbers.

2. Tarzan-In Grandstand, Turn 1: the best for racing

Tarzanbocht is the wide, banked Turn 1 hairpin at the end of the main straight, and it is the circuit’s only reliable overtaking spot. It is wide enough for two cars to go through side by side. From the lower rows, the debris fencing gets in the way, so we recommend you book higher seats. Note also that the Paddock Club building blocks the view of the pit exit from this stand.

3. Main Grandstand, main straight: the best for comfort and the podium

The Main Grandstand is the only covered stand, which is a real advantage at a circuit known for wind and rain. It sits opposite parc fermé and the podium, so it is the best seat for the celebrations, and it also gives you the grid, the start and finish line, and the pit lane. However, the view into the pits is not as good as the one from the Pit Grandstand.

4. Pit Grandstand, main straight: the best for the start and pit action

The Pit Grandstand sits opposite the pit boxes and lines the grid, so you can watch the pit stops, the grid build-up, and the launch towards Turn 1. On the Saturday, these are among the best seats for the trackside interviews with the top qualifiers. It is uncovered, and the overtaking happens elsewhere, so this is a stand for the occasion rather than the racing.

5. Eastside 3 Grandstand, Turn 11: the best value view with atmosphere

Eastside 3 is the pick of the Eastside stands, since it is elevated, sits opposite the Arena, and looks down on the cars as they brake for the chicane. As a result, you get a strong view of the racing together with the Arena party across the track. The rest of the Eastside group offers only ordinary views, so it is specifically Eastside 3 that earns this ranking.

6. General Admission 1, Turn 1 to Turn 9: the best value

General Admission 1 is not a grandstand, yet it out-ranks several. The dunes give it natural elevation and low fencing, and it runs from the Turn 1 exit round to Turn 9, so you have a huge choice of spots. The head-on view down the main straight from Turn 1 is the best place anywhere to watch the start. There is no reserved spot and little shade, and the popular spots fill early, so we recommend you arrive in good time.

The Grandstands That Can Disappoint

We believe honest guidance saves you money, so here is where fans most often feel short-changed.

1. The Hairpin grandstands can feel isolated. Hairpin 1 and 2 are the cheapest reserved seats, with low-speed views and a real trek from the fan zone. If you mainly want to be near the party, we suggest Eastside 4 or Arena-Out give you more buzz for similar money.
2. Ben Pon offers only distant views. Ben Pon sits in Silver I but gives you distant views of the final corner and grid, and most guides rate Tarzan-In more highly for less. The higher rows do add a glimpse of the banked Turn 3.
3. Low rows and cheaper splits can lose the view. The fencing sits close to the front of many stands, and Arena 3 has opposite stands blocking Turn 11. We recommend you aim high and check the seat-number split before buying a “cheap Arena” seat that is really Arena 3.
4. Some Eastside stands are for the party, not the view. Eastside 1, 2A, 2B and 4 are good for atmosphere but ordinary for the racing, so we advise against paying up here expecting a great view.

The point to take away is that Zandvoort’s tiers price the party atmosphere as much as the view, so decide first whether you are buying atmosphere or sightlines, then choose the stand and the row to match.

Why General Admission is Worth Your Attention at Zandvoort

If you are worried that a general admission ticket means a poor view, at Zandvoort the opposite is often true. The dunes place you at a safe height without intrusive fencing, so the low fence is easy to see over and to photograph past.

1. General Admission 1 is the one to choose. It runs from the Turn 1 exit round to Turn 9, giving you a wide choice of vantage points across the dunes.
2. Turn 1 is the highlight. You get a head-on view down the main straight, the best place to watch the start, and it is close to shade and refreshments. It is popular, so we recommend you arrive early.
3. Scout your spot on the Friday. The circuit is small enough to loop on foot, so use the Friday to find the race-day spot that suits you.

We should be candid about the trade-offs, since there is no reserved spot, little shade, and exposed, hilly terrain. We recommend you bring good footwear, sun protection, water and a rain jacket, and please note that umbrellas are not permitted.

Things to know before you book your Zandvoort grandstand

1. Atmosphere is the point. We recommend you weigh your choice towards the Arena for the experience, and towards Turn 1 for the racing, and decide which matters most before you look at price.
2. Sit high, and mind the tier splits. Some stands, notably Arena 2 and 3, split across two tiers with no physical border, so a “cheap Arena” seat can be the weaker Arena 3. We recommend you check the seat-number split and aim for higher rows.
3. Prepare for the weather to swing. This is a coastal circuit, so wind and rain are common even in late summer, yet only the Main Grandstand is covered. We recommend a rain jacket or poncho and sun protection, and please note umbrellas are banned.
4. Plan how you will get there. Most vehicles are banned from local roads on race weekend, so we recommend you arrive by train, bicycle or on foot, and note there is no re-entry unless you stay at the official campsite.
5. Remember it is a short lap with a Sprint. You see the cars often here, and the 2026 weekend uses the Sprint format, so the timetable differs from past years and
